Born on July 29th, 1968. Yang Xinhai ws raised in Zhumadian, Zhengyang County of Henan Province in China. He and his family were among the poorest in their village. Yang Xinhai demonstrated his high intelligence, however, was antisocial. He dropped out of school at the end of 17 in 1985, and traveled around China as a laborer instead. Before his killings took place, he was sentenced to laborer camps several times for theft between 1988 and 1991. In 1996 Yang was sent to jail in compensation for attempted rape. After confessing his murders, he was executed in 2004 at the age of 35. He was referred as a "monster killer" by the media.
